The facility is spectacular, featuring a lavish lobby with gorgeous decorations, a modern wave pool, and convenient shade and plenty of chairs in the pools and the beach. In addition to its awesome facility, the staff is extremely friendly. They convey that they really want to help, and even though always appreciated, the tip is never asked for or implied. However, the hotel is a disappointment when it comes to food. The restaurant is equipped with a large variety of foods, but they are all on the bad quality side.

The five pools that the resort has include waterfalls, wave pool, a lazy river, a pool just for water sports. The resort also features a disco and a theater. Even though beautiful far away, they are still a delightful amenity. Overall, this hotel is a awesome way to spend your time in Mexico. Even though a little bit overpriced, it can still be very enjoyable.

For Spring Break 2007, I decided to go with my family to Riviera Maya. After doing some research on the resorts acircular Playa del Carmen, I found Mayan Palace in Playa del Carmen. It seemed like a good quality hotel at a decent rate, so we took it.

When we got to the airport we took the shuttle to the resort with a cost of fifteen dollars each. It was a nice ride with gorgeous sights. It took us about thirty minutes to get from the airport to the resort. When we got to the resort we waited in the lobby until our room was ready; even though the concierge wasn’t that nice in letting us know so, it actually didn’t take long for the room to be ready, unlike most resorts. Even though the concierge that first attended us wasn’t nice, after that everyone was beautiful polite.

The room was equipped standard. Not too much, but still with all the basic stuff. It had two double beds, a phone, a TV, A/C, a dressing room and a patio. The resort in general was gorgeous though, and the pool was amazing!

ROSEWOOD MAYAKOBÁ, on Mexico’s Caribbean-lapped Mayan Riviera, opened in December, catering to guests with 128 beach- and lagoon-front suites (each with its own boat dock, most with private plunge pools), an 18-hole Greg Norman golf course and new-this-month spa, Sense, situated on its own private island.
